Discussion:
sp_login_environment issue
(too old to reply)

I am using Quickbooks POS 8 on a network that has a server
with windows SBS 2003. The POS server is a client on that
network. If connected to the network I can not create new
companies and the startup log for quickbooks has the
following error:
I. 01/28 07:33:18. Login procedure 'sp_login_environment'
caused SQLSTATE '52W09'
I. 01/28 07:33:18. Procedure 'sp_login_environment' not
found

I will be grateful for any help you can give me. If you
believe a credit card help session would resolve my issue I
would be happy to do that as well.

Belinda,

Have you spoken to Intuit regarding this issue? They might have a better
context of what's going on behind the scenes and might be able to direct
you appropriately.

Have you tried to contact the customer support team?
I have used them many times and they are very helpful.
They have different levels of support members to help even the most
complicated questions and problems regarding their POS Software.

Unfortunately, I have spent the better part of a month on
the phone with Quickbooks support. I have even called the
office of the president (quickbooks). I just spent two hours
with a second network consultant (besides the local one I
use) looking at my network and they are stumped as well. I
thought I would take a shot here. If connected to the
network the software can not seem to find the login
procedure and the database shutsdown (according to the
startup log). I am at a loss. Thank you for your responses.

because of they way they embedd the software it is nearly impossible for us
to help without their involvement.

On the surface the problem is most likely
a) you are not connecting to the database you think you are connecting to
b) you are not connecting as the user you think you are connecting as

Do you have any other instances of sql anywhere running on you network? Our
processes start with DBENG or DBSRV I believe quickbooks starts them as
QBENG and QBSRV

Send me an email directly (stephendotriceatsybase.com). I can connect your
consultant with one of our support folks to start with. We may still need
to escalate within Intuit but we can get started. I know this stuff works
at lots of other sites so we just need to figure out what is "special" about
yours
